The seat left open by Mandy Kimmons in early December has already drawn two other Republican candidates.

Dorchester County GOP chairman Steven Wright released his statement early this morning confirming that the GOP will defend this open seat.
The party primaries for House District 97 are on March 8th, and the special election will take place on May 17th.
