Dorchester County, S.C. - DD2 Superintendent Dr. Robbins identified 6 schools as "pressure points" regarding capacity at the Board’s January 9th meeting. He identified Beech Hill (99 over), Reeves (114 over), DeBose (51 over), Rollins MS (11 over) and Ashley Ridge HS (83 over) while Sand Hill (only 21 under).
Data such as this will “allow us to make decisions if and when we need to modify any attendance lines,” he said. Re-locating Districtwide Special Education programs such as the one at Sand Hill Elementary is another option that will free up classroom space.
Dr. Robbins said they would be looking at all those things as they go into the Board’s February 4 workshop. He expects to have more specific information at the workshop about programs that could be moved.
