SUMMERVILLE - Today Erica Miller announced via Facebook her intentions to run in the 2022 Dorchester District 2 School Board election. According to her website she moved to Summerville in 2011 from Michigan where she received her Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science at Central Michigan University and my Masters of Business Administration with a major in Finance from Eastern Michigan University.
She currently works as Director of Claims Analysis and Benefit Recovery at a health and welfare fund where she's been employed since 2005.
Some of the issues on her website she finds important are:
Fiscal responsibility and responsible budgeting
More transparency
Adding further instruction on the country's founding documents
Encouraging parents to be active in their children's eduction
Erica is the first of what is expected to be many candidates vying for a seat on the Dorchester District 2 School Board which has a unique at large voting process.
In 2020 9 candidates ran for 3 open seats with Ashley Wimberly, Barbara Crosby, and Evan Guthrie winning on election day after a closely contested election.
