Dorchester County, S.C. - A parade was held by Dorchester District Two to honor Carlos Dunlap, a former Fort Dorchester student (2007 graduate) and Super Bowl LVII Champion.
Dunlap, who currently plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, was part of the parade in North Charleston riding a decorated float. The parade started at Faith Church and went on to pass by River Oaks Middle and Eagle Nest Elementary schools.
Dunlap also visited students at ROMS and ENES. The parade ended at Fort Dorchester High School's stadium with a public ceremony, where Dunlap was joined by the school's marching band and U.S. Air Force JROTC SC-933. Officials, including DD2 Superintendent Dr. Shane Robbins, Rep. Chris Murphy, North Charleston Government Mayor Keith Summey, District Athletics Director Tyronne Drakeford, FDHS Principal Tripp Aldredge, and Dunlap's former high school coach, Steve LaPrad, were presenters at the ceremony.
Before the event, Superintendent Shane Robbins presented Dunlap's mother with a challenge coin.
