Dorchester County, S.C. - An individual in Dorchester County who is known to be a repeat sex offender has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The South Carolina Attorney General's Office announced the news of Stephen Christopher Sisk's conviction on Wednesday.
The investigation into Sisk was initiated by the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Sisk confessed to downloading and possessing child sexual abuse material, and a search of his computer revealed almost 270 images of such content.
Sisk had previously been convicted of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. As part of his sentencing, he will serve ten years with eight years in prison and two years of probation, and he will be registered as a Tier III sex offender.
