Where to Find Sandbags to Prepare for TS Debby (Lowcountry Wide)



Summerville, SC — With Tropical Storm Debby expected to bring significant rainfall and flooding to the Lowcountry, several local governments are offering sandbag distribution to help residents prepare.


Sandbag Distribution Locations:


Dorchester County

  • Sandy Pines Convenience Site: 374 Sandy Pines Ln., Dorchester, SC 29437.

  • Old Bi-Lo Parking Lot/New Dorchester County Health and Human Services Campus: 1452 Boone Hill Rd., Summerville, SC 29483.

Distribution time: Sunday from 1 p.m. (Limit 10 per residence or business, bring your own shovels).


City of Charleston

  • West Ashley: Bee’s Landing Recreation Center, 1580 Ashley Gardens Blvd.

  • Peninsula: Hampton Park, 30 Mary Murray Drive, near the ball fields parking lot.

  • Daniel Island: Governor’s Park, Seven Farms Drive, near the dog park.

  • James Island: Bayview Soccer Complex, 1041 Fort Johnson Road, adjacent to the bathrooms and concession stand.

Distribution time: Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Limit 10 sandbags per residence, bring your own shovels).


Town of James Island

  • James Island Town Hall: 1122 Dills Bluff Rd.

Distribution time: Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Bring your own shovels, staff will assist).


North Charleston

  • Gussie Greene Community Center: 2008 Success St., North Charleston, SC 29405.

  • North Charleston Athletic Center: 5794 Casper Padgett Way, North Charleston, SC 29406.

  • North Charleston Aquatic Center: 8610 Patriot Blvd., North Charleston, SC 29420.

Distribution time: Starting Monday at 10 a.m.


Beaufort County

  • Bluffton: 9 Benton Field Road.

  • Beaufort: 80 Shanklin Road.

Distribution time: Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. or until supplies run out (Limit 10, no contractors).


Berkeley County

  • Cordesville Fire Department: 1931 Highway 402, Moncks Corner.

  • Cainhoy Rural Vol. Fire Department Station 3: 2451 Clements Ferry Road.

  • Cainhoy Fire Department Station 6: 1004 United Drive.

  • Goose Creek Public Works: 200 Button Hall Avenue.

  • Goose Creek Fire Department Headquarters: 201 Button Hall Avenue (Starts Sunday at 11:45 a.m., bring shovels).

  • City of Hanahan Rec Complex: 3000 Railroad Avenue.

Distribution time: Starting Monday at 8 a.m.


Isle of Palms

  • 30 JC Long Boulevard: Distribution begins Sunday at 10:30 a.m. (Limit 10 per residence).


Colleton County

  • 113 Mable T. Willis Blvd.: Distribution starts Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., resumes Monday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Bring your own shovels, self-serve).


Moncks Corner

  • 1st Street and Railroad Ave: Sand and sandbags available, shovels provided on-site.

The City of Charleston warns of potential life-threatening floodwaters and flash flooding, with forecasts predicting up to 18 inches of rain from Sunday night through Friday, along with tropical storm-force winds.


Stay safe and prepare accordingly. Additional sandbag locations will be announced as more municipalities release their plans.
